Below is Colin's thank you letter to his fan club.

An open letter to Michelle Munro, Kezia Wilder and to the greatest fan club in the world.

It's been exactly one week since I went for a 'walk with a wolf', and although this letter could considered 'one week' late, it's not.

It's taken me the last seven days to absorb, digest and reflect upon one of the most amazing days I've ever had. No bullshit. It was absolutely phenomenal. Completely beyond anything that I could have possibly imagined.

The weather had been rainy for most of the Convention but on the Monday, the day of the walk, it was pristine. It started out with a delightful lunch in an absolutely beautiful little cottage restaurant in the English country side and gave me my first real feeling of being in Britain (unfortunately hotel lobbies and convention halls don't really do the job). The food was lovely and the company warm and friendly. I was fortunate to have three of my dearest friends there, two from Vancouver and one from Yorkshire and I was grateful that I could share the experience with them. They were treated with such warm hospitality by everyone who was there and completely wiped out any of that, 'It's a Colin thing' stuff. It became an everybody thing, and that made me very happy.

After being briefed on 'wolf etiquette', such as 'don't rinse your hair in raw beef and then try and ride the wolf like a pony', we began our walk. But not before lining us up so that the little four legged killing machines could get a good wiff of us before beginning our trek. I was glad to see that all we had to do was hold out our hands in order to achieve this, for it was cold out and I wasn't wearing any underwear.

But joking aside. It was absolutely wonderful. We walked, cracked some jokes, enjoyed the scenery and of course got closer and closer to these amazing animals as the trip went along. Photo's were taken all around and it was so wonderful being able to share a path with something as amazing as these two wolves. To be able to ask questions under no pressure of time or anything.

Just picture the greatest walk you've ever had. The weather clear and crisp, and in a most beautiful surrounding. Now, add a couple of wolves. Two incredibly smart, loyal and majestic animals to protect you as you wandered throughout the day. And I do mean protect, ask Michelle or Kez what happened when a complete stranger appeared and tried to 'enter the pack'. Very cool.

We took a wack of video, thanks Michelle. Tons of photos and everyone became part of something special. Ya, I know. I'm sure that the crew familiar with these kinds of walks may see it as yet 'another wolf day', but I can assure you that neither I, nor my friends will ever forget the generosity and hospitality shown to us and of course the experience of running naked through the fields, nipples taught in the breeze as we became 'one' with the pack and... Whoops. Sorry, wrong day.

But it WAS awesome. Simply putting one foot in front of the other has never been so perfect. And was simply one of the greatest days I've ever had.

Thank you Michelle. Thank you Kez. Thank you to all the staff at L-3 and to those at the conservation. And thank YOU, the fans who were kind enough to chip in and give someone a experience that will last longer than any piece of gold or silver. It was one hell of a birthday gift.

Thank you so very, very much.

Sincerely,
Colin Cunningham

ps. Thank you Michelle. I'll never forget it.
