A thank you letter from Colin to his Fans: May 11th, 2003

This letter is long over due.  And it's about time I kicked myself in the ass to get it done.

I basically wanted to express my appreciation to some of you, say sorry to a few others and ultimately say 'thank you' to you all.  This past year has been an extremely busy one, with work coming at me full tilt, the psycho strata council in my building… throw in some bills, other assorted responsibilities, not to mention a crisis or two and you've got my life over the last twelve months (probably sounds a bit like yours.)

Anyway, within my personal tornado, I have been late getting back to people on the phone or online and I've also found that a number of fan letters have begun stacking themselves up on my desk.  To these, I have barely responded.  And so, I would like to apologize to anyone who has asked me to send off a head shot, or sign a trading card or mail them my underwear.  I know it's been forever.  I will get to them, promise.

And on that note, I would also like to thank everyone for caring enough to request such things of me.  The fan presence online and in person has been extremely positive and fruitful and I very much appreciate everything that everyone has done for me.  This web site most included. The amount of work that goes into something like this is quite extensive.  Thank you all. Michelle, Dianne, Trish, Shell and Sammy … dinner's on me.

I also wanted to acknowledge some veteran fans that may have 'crossed over' from the site previously created by Lisa Cohen.  To those of you who are ccfans today or for those of you who used to be ccfans.  My thanks to you all.  The cards, birthday gifts, hats, my 'star'.  Just amazing, thank you.

I know it sounds a bit nutty, but it's hard sometimes to acknowledge all the people who are on 'your side' in life.  There are just simply so many people. Imagine working your 8 to 12 hour job, you get home and you've got bills to pay, kids to keep in line, car needs new brakes, garbage disposal is on the fritz and all the rest of it.  And at the same time, you're getting stacks of fan mail every week that needs to be answered.  Not complaining, just explaining.

Although you'd never think it, (especially those who've met me)  I'm actually a pretty solitary guy.  A little on the lone wolf side of things, and definitely more comfortable in the quieter parts of the room.  Not that I don't love a good house party.  I adore them! There's just good odds you'll find me on the roof.  And so, this new found 'responsibility' to all the new strangers in my life is quite unique.

Anyway. Thank you one and all. I appreciate all that you've done and don't ever think or wonder if that card or letter you sent meant anything to me or not. It does, it did and it will.  Thank you all.

Hope to be back on SG1 very soon (for you Gateheads out there) and a number of other projects I hope will come to a country near you!

'till then,

Yours truly,

Colin Cunningham
